DJ Mattos is a former librarian who always dreamed of being an author herself. She primarily writes historical mysteries with elements of psychological suspense, romance, and sometimes horror. She’s a member of Sisters in Crime.

In 2026, she was a finalist for Killer Nashville’s Claymore Award for Best Historical.

She lives in Arizona under the desert sun.
